Washington, DC, April 5, 2007 – The Investment Company Institute’s 2007 General Membership Meeting (GMM) will be held Wednesday, May 9 through Friday, May 11 in Washington, DC. The meeting, now in its 49th year, is one of the largest annual gatherings of the nation’s mutual fund executives. Please note this year’s meeting will be held in a new venue, the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel.
This year’s conference theme is “Enduring Value For Investors,” and the three-day event will explore how mutual funds and other investment vehicles continue to innovate to meet the changing needs of American investors. Among the highlights of this year’s conference: Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Christopher Cox will deliver the keynote address at 9 a.m. Thursday, May 10. Mary L. Schapiro, Chairman and CEO, NASD, will address the conference on Friday, May 11. This year’s program will also feature a presentation by political observers Charlie Cook and Stuart Rothenberg, and addresses by GMM Chairman Brian Murdock, President and CEO of New York Life Investment Management, and Martin Flanagan, ICI Chairman and President and CEO of AMVESCAP PLC.
