CONFERENCE -- WEST COAST

The Institute has scheduled a one-day Investment Advisers Conference on September
27, at the Universal City Hilton and Towers Hotel in Los Angeles. As you will note from the
attached preliminary program, there will be four panel discussions focused on federal
regulatory developments, compliance issues, legislative and state developments, and marketing
for advisers. We expect to have a senior SEC official deliver the keynote address. Tom Petruno,
a Los Angeles Times reporter, will be the luncheon speaker.
We will be mailing a brochure with more detailed information along with a registration
form next month. In the meantime, mark your calendar for what promises to be an excellent
program.
